The Nigerian movie industry is preparing to bid farewell to Nollywood actor Chijioke Temidayo Nwokafor, popularly known as Cjay Nwoks, following the announcement of his funeral arrangements.
The actor was reportedly pronounced dead at an undisclosed hospital in the Badore area of Lagos State. His death was announced by actress Nkechi Blessing, who had been with him at the hospital.
Service of Songs Announced
According to the funeral announcement shared by fellow actor Emeka Okoye, a service of songs will be held in honour of the late actor.
The service is scheduled for:

Family members, friends, colleagues and well-wishers are expected to gather to celebrate the life and memories of the actor.
Cjay’s Death Shocked His Colleagues
Cjay Nwoks’ death came as a shock to many of his colleagues, particularly because of his relatively young career in the Nigerian film industry.
Actress Nkechi Blessing was among those who publicly mourned him. She also cancelled the planned release of her movie “Egusi Ogbono,” in which Cjay played a lead role.
The movie had been scheduled for release on the same day his death was announced.
A Rising Actor in Nollywood
Cjay began his professional acting career in 2021 and featured in several Nollywood productions.
Some of the movies associated with the late actor include Larry Cold, Mum Overnight, A Day to My Wedding, The Lies She Tell and What Time Left.
He was from Awka, Anambra State, but was based in Lagos, where he pursued his acting career.
Cause of Death Remains Unknown
While tributes continue to pour in, the cause of Cjay Nwoks’ death has not been publicly disclosed.
His passing has therefore generated sadness among fans, friends and colleagues who had followed his growing career in Nollywood.
