Big Brother Naija star, Tochi, has sparked conversations after suggesting that modern marriages should be governed by strict contractual terms, including financial penalties for breaches, rather than relying on the endurance seen in previous generations.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Tochi argued that today’s generation lacks the patience and tolerance that helped sustain long-lasting marriages among their parents. He proposed a system in which spouses operate under a formal agreement, and if either party breaches the contract, they would pay a penalty, after which the other partner would be free to walk away.
