The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has placed a female passenger, Comfort Emmanson, on its indefinite No Fly list after she allegedly assaulted airline officials during an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos.
The decision was announced on Monday in a statement by AON spokesperson, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, who confirmed that Emmanson was the aggressor in the incident.
“We condemn the violent incident involving Ms. Comfort Emmanson, a passenger on Ibom Air flight Q9 303 from Uyo to Lagos on August 10, 2025,” the statement read. “Effective immediately, Ms. Emmanson has been placed on the AON No Fly list indefinitely. She is banned from flying with any AON member airline, domestically or internationally, for life.”
AON described the behaviour as unacceptable, adding that such incidents have become increasingly frequent. The statement referenced similar recent cases, including an altercation involving Nigerian musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1) on ValueJet and what it called “unruly behaviour” by Senator Adams Oshiomhole towards Air Peace staff.
