Jennifer Lopez’s former partner, Casper Smart, has been charged by the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office in connection with an alleged illegal marijuana grow operation at his home, according to TMZ.
Authorities have filed two misdemeanor charges against Smart: one for engaging in unlicensed commercial cannabis activity and another for doing so without a temporary application license. The charges stem from a police raid conducted at his Los Angeles residence in December 2024.
During the raid, law enforcement reportedly discovered evidence of a small-to-medium-scale cannabis cultivation operation. Smart was present at the time, along with a female guest who, according to sources, was not implicated. Only Smart was cited by authorities.
Smart first garnered public attention through his high-profile relationship with global superstar Jennifer Lopez. The pair began dating in 2011 following Lopez’s divorce from singer Marc Anthony, maintaining an on-and-off relationship for five years before ultimately parting ways in 2016. Lopez has previously credited Smart with being a source of support during a challenging period in her personal life.
Attempts to reach Smart for comment were unsuccessful, and he has reportedly declined to address the charges publicly.
