Artist Dior Adiele has revealed that she wants her mother to leave her home, saying she has reached her limit after years of what she described as emotional and financial strain.
According to Dior, she was forced to take on adult responsibilities from a young age, including paying rent at the age of 16 while living with her mother and siblings.
The artist said her mother currently lives with her but has refused to leave despite her repeated demands. She added that relatives have been appealing to her to continue accommodating her mother because of their relationship.
Expressing her frustration in a series of posts, Dior said her mother’s presence was negatively affecting her emotional wellbeing and that she needed to protect her peace, particularly for the sake of her daughter.
“I want this woman OUT OF MY FUCKING SPACE!!!! She is refusing to leave my house. She claims she has nowhere to go and her family is begging me to keep accommodating her because ‘she is my mother,’” she wrote.
“Her presence is triggering me. I hate who I am becoming. My daughter needs me. I want to be sane for her. I HAVE BEEN USED FOR TOO LONG, I AM LOSING MY MIND!!!!”
Dior further alleged that her difficult experiences with her mother began during her childhood. She claimed that she started paying rent at 16 despite living in the family home with her siblings.
“My childhood was stolen from me. I started paying rent at 16, in a house I lived in with her and my siblings,” she said.
She also alleged that her father regularly sent money to the family but that she and her siblings were made to believe otherwise.
Dior accused her mother of making several decisions that left the family struggling, including taking them away from the Catholic Church and allegedly making them homeless on three occasions.
“I am 32 this year and still paying rent. No tangible properties to my name despite how hard I have worked all my life,” she added.
The artist claimed that despite earning enough money to invest in landed properties, much of what she made was allegedly spent on supporting her mother.
“I made money, I made crazy money to afford me some landed properties, but this woman drained my every dime. But she is a ‘prayer warrior,’” Dior stated.
Her comments have sparked discussions online about family boundaries, financial responsibility and the emotional impact of difficult parent-child relationships.
