A woman identified as Serah Innocent has allegedly stabbed her husband, Innocent Nwaọjị, to death in Umuokereke Ngwa, Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday night, August 8, 2026, barely eight months after the couple’s white wedding.
Details surrounding the incident remain sketchy, including what may have triggered the alleged attack. However, reports from the community indicate that Nwaọjị was allegedly stabbed while he was asleep.
A resident of the community, David Amaraizu, who confirmed the incident on Sunday, said the development came as a shock to residents, particularly as there had been no known indication of serious problems between the couple.
According to Amaraizu, the woman was arrested following the incident and is currently in police custody, while the deceased’s remains have been deposited at a morgue.
