Rowdy Senate session as Abaribe moves motion for individual voting on electronic transmission of results

A rowdy session erupted in the Senate on Tuesday afternoon after Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, who represents Abia South, called on the chamber to allow senators to vote individually for or against the mandatory electronic transmission of election results.

Immediately after he made the suggestion, several senators raised their voices in objection. The aggrieved lawmakers insisted that the Senate should put the matter to a collective vote rather than allow individual positions to be taken.
