A tragic road accident claimed the lives of sixteen individuals and left four others injured in Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday.
The incident took place at approximately 11:20 am in the Tashar Yari area and involved a bus traveling from Kano to Markudi in Benue State.
Kabir Nadabo, the Kaduna State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), attributed the accident to overspeeding, resulting in the driver losing control of the steering and colliding with a ditch.
According to Nadabo, the initial investigation into the crash indicated the involvement of 20 people, with 16 fatalities. The four injured individuals were promptly taken to Makarfi General Hospital for urgent medical attention.
