A resident, Esther Udoh, has shared photos showing the three-storey shopping complex before it collapsed in the Alakija area along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
The building, which housed several shops and business premises, collapsed on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
Udoh, who also shared a video from the scene, revealed that her friend’s nephew, who was trapped in the rubble, has been rescued.
No fewer than eight people, including an infant girl, have been confirmed dead following the collapse.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said 26 other victims were rescued from the debris as emergency responders continued search-and-rescue operations at the scene.
