Man arrested over alleged r@pe of 59-year-old neighbour in her apartment

Police have arrested an alleged violent predator over the reported r@pe of a 59-year-old woman in her apartment in Brooklyn.

Jakhongir Sattorov, 38, was charged on Saturday, May 9, with three counts of r@pe, two counts of ass@ult, criminal obstruction of breathing, and criminal mischief after he allegedly forced his way into the victim’s apartment in Bensonhurst on Friday evening and demanded sex, according to the New York Police Department.

Police said that when the woman refused, Sattorov allegedly assaulted and strangled her before carrying out the sexual attack at the apartment located on 15th Ave. and 71st Street at about 8:30 p.m.

The victim reported the incident to the NYPD at about 11:15 p.m. and was later taken to Lutheran Hospital in stable condition. Law enforcement sources said the woman identified the suspect as her neighbor and told investigators she knew him.

Sources added that the suspect has at least seven prior arrests, all related to drug possession.

Police officers and investigators were seen around the scene on Saturday, with NYPD crime scene personnel, detectives, and members of the Special Victims Squad photographed leaving the apartment carrying multiple evidence bags.
