A Nigerian woman, Chioma Onwuesi, has shared a throwback photo from the day she accompanied her ex-boyfriend to a mall to buy drinks, unaware that he was set to marry another woman the following day.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, March 17, Chioma said the incident occurred a few years ago and that she has since moved on from the experience.
She explained that her ex, who is from Anambra State, later told her he couldn’t marry her because his mother disapproved of him marrying a woman from Imo State.
“This was the day I escorted my ex to buy drinks at the mall, not knowing he was getting married the next day,” she wrote.
“I even helped him choose most of the drinks he bought. He broke the news to me that same day after taking this picture.
“He said his mum told him he couldn’t marry a woman from Imo State, as he is from Nnewi.
“At first, I thought he was joking because I had given my all to the relationship. Then he called the woman in my presence and put the phone on speaker.
“It happened a few years ago, and I’ve moved on. I came across the picture while scrolling through my phone and decided to share it with you all.”
