Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Pere Egbi, has stirred conversations on social media after sharing his views about the LGBTQ+ community.

The reality star reacted after a user on X (formerly Twitter) posted that being LGBTQ+ is not a sin and not something anyone needs to repent from. The user also argued that sexual orientation is not a choice, and therefore cannot be changed or repented of.

Responding to the post, Pere disagreed. He said, according to his religious belief, being gay, lesbian, or transgender is a sin. He added that, in his view, God did not create men to be with other men or women to be with other women.

Pere also referenced the biblical story of Sodom and Gomorrah, saying he believes the cities were destroyed because of similar acts.

His comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some people supporting his stance based on religious beliefs, while others disagreed and defended the LGBTQ+ community.
