Nollywood actor and producer Frederick Leonard has filed a formal complaint against movie producer and social media commentator Stanley Chibueze Ajemba, popularly known as Stanley On Top, over what Leonard describes as years of defamatory and libellous statements.
The petition, dated January 26, 2026, and addressed to the Commissioner of Police in Delta State, accuses Stanley On Top of repeatedly making unfounded allegations that have harmed Leonard’s reputation and affected his earnings.
According to the petition, the alleged statements have been ongoing for over two years and were made without provocation. Leonard’s lawyers emphasized that while freedom of expression is protected under the Nigerian Constitution, it does not give anyone the right to damage another person’s reputation through libel or slander.
The legal team cited relevant sections of the Criminal Code and the 1999 Constitution, highlighting that Leonard’s right to protect his reputation has been violated.
In the petition, Leonard requests that the Nigerian Police Force investigate the matter, summon Stanley On Top for questioning, and compel him to issue a written apology while retracting and removing all alleged defamatory posts within seven days. The document also warns that failure to comply could lead to further legal action.
Sharing the petition on Instagram, Frederick Leonard issued a stern warning, saying that anyone making allegations must be able to prove them with evidence, adding: “The law will take its course.”
