The Chairman of the Presidential Tax Reforms Committee, Taiwo Oyedele, has dismissed reports claiming that the Federal Government has suspended the issuance of guidelines for the implementation of Nigeria’s new tax laws due to uncertainties surrounding the final approved version.
Earlier reports circulating online alleged that Oyedele made the statement while speaking at an event organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). The reports further claimed that speculation over the circulation of a fake gazetted version of the tax laws prompted the alleged suspension of the implementation guidelines.
Oyedele, however, has described the reports as false.
