John Cena admits to getting hair transplant after fans mocked his receding hairline

WWE legend John Cena has revealed how fans played a major role in his decision to undergo a hair transplant.

The 17-time world champion, currently on his retirement tour, said it was the audience who first made him aware of his thinning hair, with some even holding up signs pointing it out during events.

The 48-year-old had the procedure last November and is pleased with the results. Speaking to People magazine, Cena explained:

“When I was trying to hide my hair loss, the audience kept bringing it to light—like, ‘You’re going bald.’ I used it as part of the storyline because I wanted them to know I saw their signs, the ones that said ‘Bald John Cena.’ I get it, but it’s also something I was going through.

“I wanted to be genuine with that audience. They were basically telling me, ‘Either do some work or shave your head.’ They pushed me into exploring my options, and I ended up getting a transplant last November.

“The crazy thing is, I came back for the retirement tour starting in January. So it was like—successful surgery, but now I’ve got to get back out there. It was not easy.”
