In an interview with media personality Chude, the 77-year-old movie veteran emphasized that his relationship with Mary goes far beyond the typical in-law bond.
Speaking about her, Pete Edochie said:
“Mary is not just a daughter-in-law. I don’t want to say I love her more than the other wives of my sons, but the love I have for Mary is very strong. Why? Because her father and I were very close.
When we went for the traditional marriage rites, the kind of reception her people gave me is something I will never forget.
Mary is a girl I love to the marrow. She’s also a wonderful person—very brilliant. You may not know this, but Mary is a computer wizard.
To a large extent, the success of that home is to Mary’s credit.
But you know, things like this happen, and it becomes difficult to convince her that I am not part of it. Still, Mary is an extraordinary woman.
In fact, I just celebrated my 76th birthday, and the message she put out for me was so endearing. Mary is a wonderful woman.
Unfortunately, many people have been advising her wrongly, trying to sever the bond between her and her husband. Most of those women giving her such advice don’t even have good homes themselves.”
