President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for official visits to Japan and Brazil, accompanied by top government officials, including ministers and special advisers.
According to presidential media aide Bayo Onanuga, the President will make a brief stopover in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before heading to Japan.
In Japan, Tinubu will participate in the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama from August 20 to 22. He is scheduled to attend plenary sessions on conference themes, hold bilateral meetings, and engage with chief executives of Japanese companies with investments in Nigeria.
Following TICAD9, Tinubu will travel to Brasilia, Brazil’s capital, for a two-day state visit from Sunday, August 24, to Monday, August 25, at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. While in Brazil, he will hold bilateral talks with his host and attend a business forum with Brazilian investors.
