Seun Olakunle, a 40-year-old man, has been remanded in a correctional facility by an Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly breaking into a residence and stealing electrical cables valued at ₦3 million.
During the court session on Monday, June 23, Chief Magistrate B.A. Sonuga ordered Olakunle’s remand after he pleaded guilty to the theft charge. The case has been adjourned to July 17, when the court will review the facts and proceed with sentencing.
The prosecution, led by ASP Aminu Isaac, informed the court that the incident occurred on June 19 around 6 a.m. at No. 5 Aliqoda Street, Oreyo area, Ikorodu. Olakunle reportedly unlawfully entered the property and stole electrical cables belonging to the complainant, Mr. Olawale Abimbola.
Olakunle’s actions violated Sections 307(2), 339, and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. He will remain in custody until his sentencing hearing next month.
