Tech billionaire and self-described “biohacker” Bryan Johnson has gone viral after joking that oral sex could be considered a form of “longevity therapy.”
Johnson made the comment on X, formerly Twitter, in response to a user named Mateo, who claimed that performing oral sex on a woman could benefit a man’s health.
Mateo wrote: “Eating p**** not for her pleasure, but for an ample serving of Lactobacilli bacteria to improve my gut health.”
Johnson responded: “When late night snacking becomes a longevity therapy.”
The exchange is in line with Johnson’s unconventional approach to health and anti-ageing, which he regularly documents online.
He previously sparked widespread attention after posting an intimate update saying: “Just gave Kate oral sex. Goodnight everyone.” Shortly afterwards, he shared what appeared to be his partner’s vaginal microbiome test results.
Johnson claimed she scored “100/100” and had a vaginal microbiome in the “top 1% of the world,” with 98.7% reportedly dominated by Lactobacillus crispatus, a bacterium commonly associated with a healthy vaginal environment.
Johnson has also gained attention for his strict approach to food timing. He has reportedly avoided eating late in the day as part of his efforts to optimise sleep, health and longevity.
This has led some people online to joke that his comments about oral sex amount to a loophole for “late-night snacking.”
However, medical experts caution against interpreting the microbiome claims as evidence that oral sex can improve gut health or extend lifespan.
While Lactobacillus species play an important role in maintaining a healthy vaginal microbiome, consuming them through oral sex is not a recognised or proven method of improving the gut microbiome. There is also no established evidence that oral sex is a longevity treatment.
