At least 30 people have been confirmed dead after armed attackers stormed Naridon Village in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday night, July 26, 2026.
According to reports from residents, the victims include women and children. The assault also left numerous homes destroyed by fire, leaving the community devastated and forcing many families to flee.
Local sources said that more than 30 bodies have been recovered so far, while search and rescue efforts are still ongoing. There are growing concerns that the death toll could increase as authorities continue to search affected areas.
Images emerging from the village reveal extensive damage, with several houses completely burned to the ground following the attack.
The incident has renewed fears over the deteriorating security situation in Kauru Local Government Area and other parts of Southern Kaduna, where communities have repeatedly faced violent attacks in recent years.
Residents and community leaders are urging the Kaduna State Government, the Federal Government, and security agencies to strengthen security in the area by deploying more personnel and taking decisive action to prevent further violence and protect vulnerable communities.
