Residents of Omoku in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State are living in fear after unknown gunmen reportedly killed four people, including the Commander of the Organised Security Peace and Advisory Committee (OSPAC), during an attack on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
The slain OSPAC commander has been identified as Ozoemela Stephen Wokocha, popularly known as “Boski,” who led the OSPAC unit in Omoku.
Reports also indicate that three women lost their lives in the incident, while two other victims sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.
Details surrounding the attack remain unclear, and security agencies had not released an official statement as of the time of this report.
A resident, who spoke anonymously, said the incident has left the community gripped by fear, with many people staying indoors over concerns about possible further attacks.
The source added that normally busy streets became unusually quiet after the incident, as businesses closed earlier than usual and commercial activities slowed significantly across the town.
