Police release Sowore after arresting him while attending Nnamdi Kanu’s trial

Omoyele Sowore has been released after being arrested at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday morning. 

Sowore who stormed the court for trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was arrested after being prevented from entering the court premises.

The Sahara Reporters Publishers notified his Whatsapp contacts about his arrest around 10:30am. The message read; 

“I have just been arrested by the Nigerian Police at the Federal High Court. Subjected to beatings by police officers and taken to the Federal Secretariat police station.”

 He later shared news of his release via Whatsapp at about 1.10 p.m. on Monday May 26.

He wrote:”I have been released.”
