Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has promised to ensure the return of Nigerian students trapped in Volcanic Caribbean Island.

A number of Nigerian students are currently trapped in the Caribbean Island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines due to a volcanic eruption.

Dr Levi Odoe, the Consul-General of Nigeria on the Island, paid Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, a courtesy call at the National Assembly, Abuja on Wednesday, May 5, to appeal for support from the Nigerian government and other public-spirited entities around the world.

Responding, Ahmad Lawan assured that the Nigerian National Assembly will intervene to ensure that they are safely brought back home.
