Kidnappers Demand N100 Million Ransom for Abducted Ondo Businesswoman

Suspected kidnappers who abducted the wife of an Irele-based motorcycle dealer, Mrs. Morenike Falona, have reportedly contacted her family and demanded a ransom of N100 million for her release.

The 35-year-old woman was abducted from her home in Ode-Irele, the headquarters of Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State, on Wednesday night, June 17, 2026, in the presence of her family members.

A source close to the family disclosed that the abductors made contact about 48 hours after the incident and demanded N100 million.

According to the source, the kidnappers did not reach out until around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, when they called one of the victim’s family members to communicate their demand.

The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Mr. Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the abduction but said the police were unaware of any negotiations between the kidnappers and the victim’s family.

He added that intelligence-driven operations were ongoing in collaboration with other security agencies and local security outfits to ensure the victim’s safe and unharmed rescue.

Jimoh also said the command had no information about any contact between the abductors and the family, expressing confidence that the businesswoman would be rescued without the payment of any ransom.
