The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of the Ekiti State governorship election held on Saturday, June 20.
According to the electoral body, the incumbent governor polled 319,224 votes to defeat his closest rival, Wole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 40,543 votes.
The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Oluwadare Bejide, finished third with 12,872 votes.
Oyebanji’s victory secures him a second term as governor of Ekiti State.
