A woman has sparked debate online after recounting an experience that she said led her to begin resenting her father.
The discussion started when an X user posted: “There is no common sense in coming back home to cook for someone who has been home all day, except such person is disabled.”
Reacting to the post, the woman shared a personal experience from her teenage years.
She wrote: “This was one of the rude awakenings that made me start hating my dad. He was jobless that year while my sister and I were working as teenagers, but whenever we came back home at night, it was always, ‘Susan, what are we going to eat?’, ‘Warm the soup,’ or ‘Make eba for everybody.’ Grateful for growth every day.”
Her comment has since generated mixed reactions, with some social media users sympathizing with her experience, while others argued that family responsibilities can sometimes require everyone to contribute regardless of their circumstances.
