“How Can You Call an Adulterous Woman a Queen?” – Actress Rita Edochie Criticizes Nigerians for Celebrating Women Accused of Breaking Homes

Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has strongly condemned the public celebration of women she believes are responsible for breaking up marriages, describing the trend as evidence of a decline in societal values.

In a statement shared on her official Instagram page, the veteran actress questioned why women accused of disrupting homes are being celebrated and referred to as “queens.”

According to Edochie, true honor and dignity cannot be built on another woman’s pain and heartbreak. She also argued that those who defend or celebrate such actions have a distorted understanding of family values, adding that they are likely products of broken homes.

In part, she wrote:

“THE DEVIL HAS TAKEN OVER THE WORLD.

“A QUEEN? SHE COLLECTED SOMEONE’S CROWN WRAPPED IN A MASCULINE FIGURE, YET YOU CALL HER A QUEEN? HOW?

“WHO MADE HER A QUEEN? WHAT MADE HER A QUEEN? BY STEALING WHAT DOES NOT BELONG TO HER? BY BUILDING HER TRIUMPH ON THE ASHES OF ANOTHER WOMAN’S TEARS?

“A true queen is a woman of dignity, grace, and honour. She does not sneak into the dark to dismantle what she did not plant. She does not tear down another woman’s sanctuary to erect her own plastic throne.

“To anyone supporting what she did, hailing her, validating her, and making her feel this treachery is right, there is no doubt that anyone defending this wreckage is a direct product of a broken home, harboring a warped understanding of family and respect.

“And to the men supporting this madness, praising an adulterous woman for shattering the peace of a home another woman laboured to build for decades, may the concept of polyandry in Africa begin with you and your entire household. Let us see how your ego holds up when the tables are turned.

“People have completely lost their moral compass. The hypocrisy is deafening, especially when defenders ask, ‘What is your business?’, ‘Are you better than her?’, or ‘Why not allow her to enjoy her marriage?’

“Which marriage exactly? The one built on stolen ground? The one birthed from betrayal? Let us stop dressing up wickedness in the robes of ‘mind your business.’

“You cannot build a palace on top of another woman’s graveyard and expect the foundation not to rot. Take the pictures, force the fake smiles, and parade your stolen title all you want, but the universe keeps receipts, and karma does not respect a forged licence.

“A thief is a thief, even if she wraps the stolen goods in gold and calls it a blessing.”
