Man’s asylum claim takes dramatic turn after he says he fled Nigeria for being gay, then admits he has a wife and children back home

The Nigerian man initially stated that his life was in danger in Nigeria because of his sexual orientation, which can be grounds for asylum under the country’s Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act. However, shortly afterward, he said he has a wife and two children back home, prompting some observers to question the consistency of his account.
