A former Miss California has accused President Donald Trump of betraying his most loyal supporters after she was fired from a White House religious post over her comments on Israel.

Carrie Prejean Boller was dismissed from the Justice Department’s Religious Liberty Commission after allegedly “hijacking” a February 9 hearing examining the rise of anti-Semitism.

Prejean Boller reportedly engaged in tense exchanges with Jewish witnesses, including rabbis and students, who were giving evidence about abuse they had suffered following the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas that left about 1,200 people dead.

The 38-year-old, who is married to former NFL quarterback Kyle Boller, published an open letter to Trump on Thursday claiming that he was surrounded by “heretics” who support Israel over America.

She also pointed out that the president had once stood firmly by her side during one of the most controversial moments of her early career. At just 21, she sparked nationwide debate during the Miss USA pageant after expressing her belief that marriage should be defined as a union between a man and a woman. At the time, Trump, who owned the pageant, publicly defended her right to express her opinion and allowed her to retain her crown despite the backlash.

“I have not changed one bit since the day you stood beside me in 2009. That is why it is so shocking to now be removed from a Religious Liberty Commission for doing the very same thing you once defended,” Prejean Boller wrote.

The mother of two accused Trump’s evangelical spiritual adviser, Paula White, of launching a “witch hunt” against her. She claimed White had attempted to stop her from posting about Israel and Gaza on social media.

Prejean Boller also criticized Trump for retreating from what she described as his non-interventionist principles, saying she had supported him for 20 years but “now, I don’t even recognize you.”

“The MAGA I knew would never allow American troops to die for a foreign government,” she wrote, referring to the Israel-backed war in Iran, which she said has killed seven U.S. service members since it began two weeks ago. “America’s sons and daughters are being sent to the Middle East to be sacrificed at the altar of heresy and false prophecy.”

She added that she felt compelled to speak out against the war in Gaza, saying her Christian faith would not allow her to ignore human suffering.

“My Christian faith does not allow me to ignore human suffering … while the United States and my tax dollars are paying for it,” she wrote.

Responding to claims that she hijacked the hearing, Prejean Boller insisted she had simply asked legitimate questions about whether Israel should be beyond criticism.

“I did exactly what commissioners are supposed to do. I asked questions,” she wrote.

“I thought MAGA was putting America first, not Israel. Today, I struggle to recognize the movement you started. It appears to have been hijacked by a foreign government and religious zealots attempting to fulfill their heretical end-times fantasy.”

Prejean Boller concluded her letter by saying she would pray for Trump’s salvation.

“Your eternal legacy is dependent on you entering the Kingdom of heaven, and I sure hope that one day I will see you there,” she wrote.
