The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has thwarted an attempt by convicted drug kingpin Olashupo Michael Oladimeji to export 1.10 kilograms of cocaine to London, United Kingdom.
In a statement released on Sunday, February 15, 2026, NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi revealed that Oladimeji is currently serving a five-year prison sentence at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre in Lagos. NDLEA officers at the export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos, intercepted the consignment, which contained compressed blocks of cocaine hidden in a sack of Garri.
A staff member from Oladimeji’s logistics company, Dimeji Express Logistics, identified as Adedeji Yusuf Gbolahan, was promptly arrested after presenting the consignment for export.
The statement detailed that the cocaine was concealed within processed cassava granules, commonly known as Garri, intended for shipment on a Virgin Atlantic flight. It also noted that Oladimeji had previously been arrested by the NDLEA in 2025 for his involvement in the unlawful conspiracy to export 17.90 kilograms of cocaine. He was prosecuted, convicted, and sentenced in connection with that case (FHC/L/925C/2025) by a Federal High Court in Lagos.
Despite his incarceration, Oladimeji, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Dimeji Express Logistics located at 20 Omilade Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi, initiated this latest scheme from prison. His plan was uncovered on February 12 when NDLEA officers intercepted the consignment containing the cocaine concealed within a carton.
Investigations revealed that Oladimeji directed Gbolahan to retrieve the consignment from a location in Oshodi, demonstrating his continued involvement in drug trafficking activities despite serving a prison sentence.
