Lagos-based pastor, Paul Adefarasin, on Monday, June 17, voluntarily presented himself to the Lagos State Police Command following the circulation of a viral video showing him holding what appeared to be a gun-like object while confronting a man who was filming him. In the video, Adefarasin was also seen driving an unregistered vehicle.
The spokesperson for the command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development to journalists, stating that the cleric is currently being interrogated by detectives. He added that the outcome of the investigation will be made public once concluded.
Adefarasin has since denied owning or possessing any firearm.
