Drama at Lagos Airport as Oshiomhole Allegedly Shuts Down Terminal Over Missed Flight

A dramatic scene unfolded at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos today, June 11, involving former Governor of Edo State and current senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident occurred at the Zulu Terminal of the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) after Senator Oshiomhole allegedly arrived late for his scheduled flight to Abuja. A now-viral video shows the senator in a heated exchange with airport staff.

Sources claim that upon being informed that the boarding process had closed and he had missed his flight, Oshiomhole became visibly agitated. He allegedly demanded that the flight be delayed to accommodate him—a request the airline reportedly declined.

In the ensuing commotion, the senator is accused of blocking the terminal entrance, temporarily preventing other passengers from accessing the departure hall.

Airport staff further allege that Oshiomhole ordered the closure of the terminal during the dispute.

As of the time of this report, neither the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) nor the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has issued an official statement regarding the incident.
