Trent Alexander-Arnold Announces Liverpool Exit After 20 Years, Set to Join Real Madrid

Trent Alexander-Arnold has officially announced he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, bringing an end to a remarkable 20-year association with the club.

The 26-year-old right-back will join Spanish giants Real Madrid on a free transfer after choosing not to renew his contract with the Reds.

Alexander-Arnold, who joined Liverpool’s academy at the age of six, has enjoyed a decorated career at Anfield. His honours include two Premier League titles, a Champions League, an FA Cup, two League Cups, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup. Renowned for his creativity and vision from the right flank, he holds the Premier League record for the most assists by a defender in a single season.

In a heartfelt statement, Alexander-Arnold said:

“After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club, now is the time for me to confirm that I will be leaving at the end of the season. This is easily the hardest decision I’ve ever made in my life.

This club has been my whole world. From the Academy to the first team, the support and love I’ve felt from everyone inside and outside the club will stay with me forever. But I’ve never known anything else, and this decision is about stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing a new challenge.”

His departure will mark the end of an era for both Liverpool and the player, who has become one of the most influential full-backs of his generation.
