Cordellionè, a transgender woman who uses she/her pronouns, has filed a handwritten complaint alleging she was sexually assaulted and raped multiple times while incarcerated at Westville Correctional Facility (WCA) in Indiana.

She is currently serving a 55-year sentence for the 2001 death of her 11-month-old stepdaughter, whom she strangled while caring for the child in the mother’s absence.

According to her complaint, Cordellionè began her gender transition in 2020, after being transferred from New Castle Correctional Facility (NCN), where she had been held in protective custody. Upon her transfer to WCA—an all-male prison—she alleges that both fellow inmates and prison staff subjected her to repeated physical and sexual assaults.

In one disturbing claim, she recounts a comment allegedly made by an offender: “Trump’s president now, and we won’t even get in trouble for hurting you trans people. We’re patriots—and even if you tell on us, Trump will pardon us and probably give us a medal.”

Cordellionè is seeking $3.5 million in damages, asserting that at least two assailants made similar remarks during the alleged attacks. She further claims she was warned not to report the abuse because “staff are on [the attackers’] payroll.”

When she did attempt to report the assaults, Cordellionè alleges a unit team manager dismissed her concerns, reportedly saying: “I’ve seen your case on the news, and I don’t think taxpayers should have to pay for your surgery. God doesn’t approve of transgenders and gays, so what do you expect to happen when you dress like a woman in a male facility?”

Cordellionè initially told police in 2001 that she found the child unresponsive with vomit coming from her mouth. She later admitted to strangling the infant after becoming frustrated. During incarceration, she reportedly told a correctional officer, “All I know is I killed the little girl.” In 2002, she was sentenced to 55 years in prison.

In response to the lawsuit, a White House spokesperson stated: “President Trump has vowed to defend biological women from gender ideology extremism and restore biological truth to the federal government.”
