Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has recently shared his personal growth as a head coach.

Known for his tactical acumen and ability to nurture young talent, Pochettino has also faced criticism for his emotional reactions to unfavorable results and in-game incidents. Reflecting on his journey, he remarked, “I’ve achieved a much better balance compared to a decade ago,” as conveyed via the club’s official website.

“I find myself in a more mature state now, striving to maintain composure. I hope my wife appreciates my improved behavior,” he added with a touch of humor.

Pochettino acknowledged the maturation of his coaching staff, noting, “We’ve learned not to be overly swayed by emotions, as we may have been in the past.”

“Even in moments of triumph, we remain composed, and in times when the team faces challenges, we maintain our equanimity, seeking the best solutions for the future.”

Beyond his coaching philosophy, Pochettino also revealed his belief in universal energy—the concept that people, places, and things carry hidden energies, whether positive or negative.

“I firmly believe in ‘energía universal’,” he shared. “Everything is interconnected. Nothing occurs by mere chance; it is always a consequence of something else. Perhaps this belief is one of the reasons why Harry Kane consistently performs well in derbies. To me, this energy is very real and impactful.”

Pochettino’s journey as a coach and his philosophical outlook reflect his continuous growth and evolving perspective in both football and life.
