President Bola Tinubu has arrived at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York to participate in the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

He was warmly welcomed by Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as Prof. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and various government dignitaries.

This year’s UNGA theme is “Rebuilding Trust and Reigniting Global Solidarity: Accelerating Action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards Peace, Prosperity, Progress, and Sustainability for All.”

President Tinubu is slated to deliver his inaugural National Statement on September 19, marking the first day of the High-Level General Debate during the 78th UNGA Session.

Before participating in the General Debate, the President will join fellow world leaders in the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, also known as the UN 2023 Summit on SDGs.
