Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Abuja to represent President Bola Tinubu at the 15th BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) summit in South Africa.

Olusola Abiola, the Director of Information in the Vice President’s office, has confirmed that several senior government officials will be accompanying Shettima on this important journey.

Among the distinguished leaders set to participate are Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa; Xi Jinping, President of China; Luiz Lula da Silva, President of Brazil; and Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.

Noteworthy attendees include Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN); the Chairperson of the African Union (AU); and the President of the New Development Bank.

This summit will delve into critical discussions on global geopolitics and infrastructure development, reflecting the organization’s commitment to fostering connections with leaders from Africa and the broader global south.
