Deji Adeyanju Accuses Wike of Destroying Abuja, Says City Is Flooded and Stinking

Heavy rainfall over the weekend triggered severe flooding across several parts of Abuja, leaving numerous vehicles, including luxury cars, submerged in water and cutting off some major roads.

Reacting to the flooding, activist and FCT resident Deji Adeyanju blamed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for what he described as the unprecedented flooding in the nation’s capital.

Adeyanju criticised the alleged allocation of canals and waterways for estate development, arguing that such practices had contributed to the worsening flooding situation in Abuja.

“Wike has destroyed Abuja. The town is stinking and flooded. I have never seen this kind of complete lunacy and greed before. Maitama and most parts of Abuja are now flooded because of one man’s greed. How do you allocate canals and waterways to politicians to build estates on them?” he wrote.
