Jelicia Westhoff, the Dutch model who shares a son with Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, has publicly accused the footballer of domestic abuse and failing to play an active role in their child’s life.
In a series of posts shared on social media, Westhoff alleged that Okoye physically abused her during their relationship and was repeatedly unfaithful. She also claimed that he has had very little contact with their son over the past two years, alleging that he has distanced himself from the child because of their ongoing disagreements.
According to Westhoff, their son was hospitalized several times in December, but she says Okoye did not visit. She further stated that she remained silent for years to protect his reputation and football career but has now decided to speak out.
She added that lawyers have been involved for several weeks over issues relating to child support and visitation arrangements.
In one of her posts, Westhoff also claimed that Okoye is bisexual, writing:
“You never had any other girlfriend than me because you are bi.”
Her social media posts came just hours after photos and videos of Okoye having dinner with American rapper Cardi B in Italy began circulating online.
However, Westhoff insisted that her decision to speak out was not motivated by another woman, maintaining that her allegations have nothing to do with Okoye’s reported dinner outing.
