Bauchi Governor Inaugurates 2,187 Forest Guards to Tackle Insecurity

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has urged the newly inducted Forest Guards to uphold professionalism and respect for human rights as they begin their security duties across the state.

The governor gave the charge during the passing-out parade of 2,187 Forest Guards at the Police Training School in Yelwa, Bauchi Local Government Area.

Represented by his deputy, Rt. Hon. Auwal Jatau, the governor welcomed representatives of various security agencies who attended the ceremony and highlighted the importance of the initiative in strengthening security across the state.

He urged the graduands to be worthy ambassadors of the Forest Guard Corps by carrying out their responsibilities with discipline, integrity, and professionalism.

Mohammed said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to peace-building and security, stressing that the Forest Guard Corps was established to protect lives, property, and the environment.

He charged the personnel to strictly adhere to the rules of engagement in the discharge of their duties, warning that the state government would not tolerate any form of misconduct or unlawful acts.

The governor also encouraged the Forest Guards to promote environmental sustainability while contributing to efforts to improve security across Bauchi State.

Speaking at the event, the Commander-General of the Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency, Umar Shayi, commended Governor Mohammed for his commitment to strengthening local security outfits.

Shayi urged the newly graduated Forest Guards to remain committed, disciplined, and dedicated to their duties, expressing confidence that their service would enhance peace and security throughout the state.
