A staff member at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, Frank Omorojie, has returned a lost purse containing cash and vital travel documents to its owner at the Terminal 2 departure hall.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 29, at the RwandAir check-in area, where Omorojie discovered the misplaced purse.
The purse contained $1,700, a Nigerian passport, a British passport, and a credit card.
Without hesitation, Omorojie handed the recovered item over to Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel.
In line with standard airport procedures, the belongings were documented and transferred to the Customer Service unit, which promptly made a public announcement to locate the owner.
A Nigerian passenger scheduled to travel to Kigali, Rwanda, who had feared the items were permanently lost, was quickly reunited with all her belongings intact.
Airport officials commended Omorojie, describing his actions as a clear demonstration of professionalism and integrity. They noted that such conduct helps reinforce public confidence in airport operations and staff.
Speaking briefly, Omorojie said his decision was guided by simple principles of honesty.
“I just did what was right,” he said.
