Singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P of the now-defunct group P-Square, has announced a new date for celebrating his birthday, separate from the November 18, 1981 date he shares with his twin brother, Paul Okoye.
He made the announcement via his X handle on April 20, stating that his birthday will now be celebrated on November 30.
According to him, the decision is personal, and he urged fans, friends, and family to respect his choice.
“Dear family, friends, and fans,
I’m making it official. November 18 is no longer my birthday celebration date. Please note that I will not be accepting any messages or gifts on that day.
My birthday will now be celebrated on November 30. This is a personal decision, and I truly appreciate your understanding.
Thank you all,” he wrote.
The development comes amid a strained relationship with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, and their older brother, Jude Okoye, following P-Square’s split years ago.
