Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has pleaded not guilty to five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

The 32-year-old appeared at Southwark Crown Court on Wednesday morning, just hours after playing in Villarreal’s 1-0 Champions League defeat to Tottenham.

According to the Daily Mail, Partey is accused of raping two women on separate occasions and sexually assaulting a third. He strongly denies all allegations.

During the hearing, Partey confirmed his name and date of birth before entering his not-guilty plea to all six charges. He wore black trousers, a quarter-zip jumper, and a blue jacket.

A trial date has been set for November 2, 2026. Judge Christopher Hehir explained the delay, citing a significant backlog in crown courts, with priority given to defendants currently held in custody.

Partey was charged shortly after leaving Arsenal when his contract expired in June. He later signed for Spanish club Villarreal in August, a move that initially drew protests from some supporters.

The Ghana international remains on bail under conditions that bar him from contacting the three women involved. His legal team has reiterated that he “denies all the charges” and looks forward to clearing his name in court.
