Iran’s military announced on Friday that it had launched drone attacks targeting American military facilities in Bahrain and Jordan, describing the operation as retaliation for recent US strikes on the Islamic Republic.
According to an official statement, Iranian forces used Arash kamikaze drones to strike multiple targets at Isa Air Base in Bahrain. The military claimed the operation targeted fuel storage tanks, equipment warehouses, silos, and barracks used by US personnel.
Shortly after the announcement, reports emerged of an explosion and warning sirens sounding in Bahrain on Friday morning. However, authorities have not confirmed whether the reported explosion was connected to the alleged drone attack.
Iran also stated that it carried out a separate drone operation against Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan. The claimed targets included aircraft hangars, aviation maintenance facilities, and military barracks.
As of the time of publication, Jordanian officials have not reported any attacks or confirmed damage to military installations.
Tehran has repeatedly maintained that any military base or facility in the Middle East used by the United States to launch operations against Iran is considered a legitimate target for retaliatory action. Independent verification of Iran’s latest claims has not yet been provided.
