NAF Airstrikes Kill Scores of Terrorists, Destroy Enclaves in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that its Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai recorded another major operational success on Friday, 10 July 2026, after conducting precision air strikes that destroyed a terrorist enclave in Yaganari, within the Gezuwa general area of Borno State.

Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said several terrorists were neutralised during the operation.

According to Ejodame, the strikes followed credible intelligence reports indicating renewed terrorist activities and the concentration of fighters in the area. The Air Component subsequently carried out intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, which confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics facilities.

“The targets were subsequently engaged in a series of precision strikes, leading to the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and the neutralisation of several terrorists,” Ejodame said.

He added that the successful operation further demonstrated the increasing pressure being applied against terrorist elements, whose freedom of movement and ability to regroup have been significantly weakened by sustained air operations.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, commended the personnel involved in the operation for their professionalism and reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to maintaining offensive operations against threats to national security.

“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt, and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge,” Aneke said.

“We remain committed to ensuring that terrorists have no safe haven and no opportunity to recover their capabilities.”

The CAS further stressed that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain focused on consolidating the gains already achieved in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.
