Fulham have appointed Álvaro Arbeloa as their new manager on a three-year contract.
The former Real Madrid coach has agreed a three-year deal at Craven Cottage, taking over from Marco Silva, who departed the club for Benfica after his Fulham contract expired.
Arbeloa left Real Madrid in May and was replaced by José Mourinho at the Santiago Bernabéu last month.
“It is a real honour for me to be embarking on this new chapter at Fulham FC, the oldest club in London,” Arbeloa said. “I feel a great sense of responsibility and I am deeply grateful to [chairman] Mr [Shahid] Khan and [vice-chairman] Tony Khan for the trust they have placed in me as I take on this challenge with Fulham in the Premier League.”
Fulham chairman Shahid Khan said: “Álvaro is, by his own admission, very ambitious. He has spent valuable time working alongside some of the best players, clubs and coaches in the game, experiences that will serve him well here at Fulham.”
