A 35-year-old man has reportedly set his parents’ house on fire after his father declined to give him money.
The incident was disclosed on Sunday, February 8, 2026, by Facebook user Eric Mboya. According to his account, the man became angry after his request for money was refused.
Mboya explained that the man had asked his father for Ksh 5,000 to spend time with friends, but his request was turned down. In response, he allegedly returned with petrol and set the family house ablaze. Reports indicate that the man also lived in the same house he set on fire.
The incident comes less than two weeks after a similar case was reported in Thunguma village, Nyeri County, where a 40-year-old man allegedly burned down his parents’ home after his mother refused to give him Sh100.
