Ossai Ovie Success, Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor, has condemned the victim-shaming directed at the late 20-year-old Favour Agbro, who reportedly died by suicide after an alleged sexual assault involving Asaba-based content creator Odogwu.
Reacting in a Facebook post, Ossai criticized individuals who have been circulating videos of Agbro dancing, digging into her past, and questioning her decision to travel from Warri to Asaba.
He described such actions as a disturbing display of insensitivity, accusing the critics of lacking empathy and emotional intelligence.
The governor’s aide also challenged those blaming the deceased to reflect on how they would feel if the victim were their own sister or daughter, urging the public to show compassion rather than judgment during such a tragic situation.
The incident has continued to spark conversations on social media about victim-blaming, empathy, and the need for justice in cases involving alleged sexual assault.
