Actress Tonto Dikeh has advised Christian men to be more intentional and practical in their pursuit of romantic relationships, rather than relying solely on spiritual declarations.
In a recent video, she questioned the mindset of some church men who often approach women with statements like “God told me you are my wife,” arguing that such declarations should not replace genuine effort, communication, and intentional courtship.
Referencing biblical principles of love and respect, she emphasized that true pursuit involves action, care, and consistent effort. According to her, men should demonstrate interest through thoughtful gestures, meaningful communication, and planned experiences that help build emotional connection.
She further encouraged Christian men to be more expressive in their affection—such as giving flowers, planning proper dates, and making women feel valued and cherished—rather than depending on prophecy alone to sustain relationships.
Tonto Dikeh also noted that Christian women deserve romance and intentional love, adding: “We’re tired of hearing ‘God said.’ Go and buy flowers. Plan that date.”
