“My father said he would rather see me dead than convert to Christianity” — Woman shares her conversion story

A young woman has shared the challenges she faced after deciding to leave Islam and convert to Christianity.

Speaking during a roadside interview, she explained that she was raised in a loving Muslim family and also attended predominantly Christian schools while growing up. According to her, although her parents ensured she had a strong Islamic foundation, she often had questions about her faith that she struggled to find clear answers to.

She said her perspective began to shift when she moved to northern Nigeria for her tertiary education, where she met her now-fiancé, a gospel artist. Through him, she was introduced to Bible study and other aspects of the Christian faith.

The lady stated that after years of learning and asking questions, she made the decision in 2024 to convert to Christianity.

She added that she eventually informed her parents about her decision, a move that reportedly triggered a strong reaction from her father.

According to her, he told her: “I would rather see you d£ad than convert to Christianity.”
